Adele lives on a small lifestyle block just out of Napier with her husband and two boys, a new puppy and an old cat. She is not much of a farmer though because their sheep and chickens all have names and come running when she calls. ‘Saves having a sheep dog,’ she says.

She has been an avid reader since forever and wrote many stories as a child – scary ones were her favourite!

Since her son asked her to make up bedtime stories, she began writing them down and since 2002 has written for the NZ School Journal and published several junior chapter books for overseas schools. She writes very early in the morning and late at night around her boys and her work at the Napier i-site Visitor Centre. ‘I see different people from all over the world every day. They inspire great characters for stories.’

Moving to their lifestyle block inspired her novel ‘Too Many Secrets’ which is to be published in 2010.
