Originally from England, Christine
moved to New Zealand when she was 8 years old. She
owns her own business selling books to school
libraries, so Christine gets to read lots of
children’s books. She lives with her husband, Rob,
her son Thomas, a very smart Miniature Schnauzer and
a very stupid Boxer. The Boy Who Bounced Around Aotearoa/New Zealand Christine Hurst, Illustrated by: Raymond McGrath. Zac’s a bouncer. His mum tells him not to be a bouncer. Next thing, Zac is bouncing around New Zealand! These are not little bounces; his bounces take him from Stewart Island, where he dines with some hoiho, to the Auckland harbour bridge, where he meets a humungous family of tarapunga (seagulls), to the banks of the Whanganui River where he makes friends with some wary pukeko. But, what place do all little boys want to visit? Outer space! Zac’s zooms in and he zooms out until … he hears his mum’s voice and wakes up in his bed. She’s got a question for him; ‘Why is there a star on the front lawn?’ Kiwi Write4Kidz Author Visits -
