Eleanor completed the Professional Children's Writer's Course run by NZIBS in 2002 and has been writing ever since. Lots of ideas come from what her boys, or children at the local primary school where she works, get up to.

She has a story in the anthology 'Mischief and Mayhem' (Random, 2005) and short stories in the New Zealand School Journals, New South Wales School Magazines and Pearson Australia's Magazines. She also has a reader accepted by Gilt Edge Publishing.

In 2010, she has had six short chapter books published by Clean Slate Press Limited, educational publishers, for their Signatures Series 2. Discover what Josh and Nathan get up to in 'School Idol', 'Invaded' and 'A World Record' or go adventuring with Gran and Jenna in 'Parasailing Predicament', 'Fishing Fiasco', and 'Snow Skiing Scrapes and Scares'.

Her picture book 'Counting Sheep', (Reed Publishing NZ, 2007) was originally submitted to the Joy Cowley Award 2005 and short-listed.

Counting Sheep
Ryan can't sleep. Therefore, no-one should sleep! 'Count some sheep!' advises Mum. But counting sheep only brings more questions: 'Are they boys or girls, Mum?'; 'What colour are they, Mum?' Back and forth he goes, from his room to his parents'. When he finally drops off, guess who can't sleep?
