Over the last few years, Elena has had stories and poems in The School Magazine, a Readers' Theatre Play published by South Pacific Press and a number of readers published by Rainbow Reading. She recently won the Manawatu (New Zealand) International Poetry for Performance Competition and is looking forward to seeing her poem performed in October.
Her first picture book The Rain Train arrives in August and is illustrated by Brian Lovelock. Elena is a big fan of Brian's illustrations and was over the moon when she found out that Walker Books Australia had agreed to publish it.
