Born in Australia, Jeannie lived
most of her life on the eastern coast before arriving in New Zealand for
a summer holiday, and she is still here. She has wanted to be a writer since
winning a short story competition while in her final year at high school,
but university, travel, working as a teacher and raising two daughters got
in the way until she had two novels published, Such Good Mates, and Impact.
Both have strong, young, male main characters who have to cope with the unexpected. Jeannie received a Creative New Zealand grant in 2003 to complete a third novel. She is now working on further novels. Jeannie lives in Grey Lynn and is a Business Manager at a secondary college.
