Dee Pigneguy launches 'Growing Gardeners' - August 2008

Dee's book launch, an August Green Drinks  function was proudly hosted by Verran Primary School and Papawai Press, with support from North Shore City Council and NZAEE Growing Gardeners Book Launch(NZ Association of Environmental Education)
The event provided a great chance to celebrate the theme of Conservation Week 2008 – meet the locals!
"We’re going North to an Enviroschool where we’ll toast the launch of Growing Gardeners, written by local organic gardener and author Dee Pigneguy and published by DevonportGrowing Gardeners Book Launch company Papawai Press. Verran students and their school star in the book; we’ll have a chance to get acquainted with them in tours of the school from 4.30pm."
And so it was 120 people including adults and children gathered in the beautifully decorated Verran's Road School Hall to listen to a few speeches, meet new friends, sample the nutritious food and drink and meet the locals!

What is Green Drinks? It is a simple concept that has generated an international movement that is now active in 360 cities around the world. The international website  highlights everywhere you can go and join like-minded people in regular, fun, social networking.

Kathy White launches 'Muffin Magic' - July 26 2008

26 July was the stormiest day of the year in Auckland. There was a warning issued to keep away from the harbour Muffin Magic Book Launchbridge, and there were power failures across Auckland. However 70 people braved the weather to come to Kathy's White's book launch of the latest Kiwi Bite, Muffin Magic at Birkenhead Library and Leisure Centure.

People came dressed up as everything from a 'Kitchen Disaster' to 'Muffin Pixies'. They did the Rock Trivia Challenge, took part in the Muffin Taste Test and voted Amal Qilingi as the top muffin chef of the day. They consumed 120 muffins, watched a rock climbing demo, won 15 prizes, listened to a reading from the book and bought 42 books. All while the rain pounded on the roof and the wind threatened to rip it off.
