Don't Call Me Jojo' is a novel aimed at older fluent readers, and published by Scholastic New Zealand in 2008. Tania is a primary school teacher, who has also written educational readers and teachers' resources, many of which are sold worldwide.

Tania first had the idea of writing 'Don't Call Me Jojo' in her first year of teaching, when a little girl in her class had her father taken away by the police in the middle of the night. The child was very traumatised by this and became terrified of the police. It made Tania think about what happens to the children of criminals, and how the actions of a parent can impact so much on their families.

Tania lives with her husband and three children in Wattle Cove, Auckland.

“It's an engrossing story with themes that many teens will identify with.” NZ Book Council, 2009.
